About our Practice

Garden State Pain & Orthopedics was founded in 1994 with the goal of providing compassionate and comprehensive pain management to people struggling with acute and chronic pain. Over the years, the practice has expanded to include more than 30 employees and currently has four convenient locations in Edison, Clifton, Hazlet, Paramus, and Jersey City, New Jersey.

Dr. Dev Sinha, Pain Management Physician

Dr. Dev Sinha specializes in pain medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation at Garden State Pain & Orthopedics. He uses a comprehensive approach when treating pain, integrating physical and behavioral therapies, medications, and the most innovative, minimally-invasive procedures. He believes in offering alternative medicine therapies for the treatment of difficult-to-treat pain conditions. His expert care is available at four convenient locations in Edison, Clifton, and Jersey City, New Jersey.

Dr. Sinha attended George Washington University, then earned his Doctor of Medicine from American University of Antigua College of Medicine. He went on to complete his residency and fellowship training in interventional pain medicine at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. During his fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, he trained with the top physicians in the field of pain management. His dedication to the advancement of the field can be seen through his numerous publications that contribute to the study and treatment of pain medicine.

Dr. Neil Sinha, Pain Management Physician

Dr. Neil Sinha provides comprehensive interventional pain medicine at Garden State Pain & Orthopedics, where he tailors individual treatment options to the unique needs of each patient. He believes that patient education and establishing a caring doctor-patient relationship are integral parts of the healing process. Dr. Sinha uses a multi-pronged approach to managing pain, including interventional pain techniques, minimally-invasive surgeries, medical management, and physical and behavioral therapy. His goal is to restore function and improve the quality of his patients’ lives, who are welcome at one of four office locations: Edison, Clifton, Hazlet, and Jersey City, New Jersey.

Dr. Sinha is especially interested in treating cervical and lumbar pain, sciatica, spinal stenosis, and post-laminectomy syndrome. He also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex regional pain syndrome, facial pain, and headaches. 

After earning his undergraduate degree in computational biology and mathematics at Cornell University, Dr. Sinha received his Doctor of Medicine from the New Jersey Medical School in Newark. He did his residency in anesthesiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Sinha completed his Interventional Pain Management Fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation. While there, Dr. Sinha trained in cutting-edge technology with leaders in the field of pain management. He was nominated and served as Chief Fellow and was awarded the Ethelee R. Smith Award for Most Outstanding Fellow. 

Dr. Sinha is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management and is licensed to practice medicine in Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. When he’s not helping patients achieve relief from their pain, Dr. Sinha is an avid sports fan who especially likes football, and he enjoys maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. 

Dr. Saurabh Dang, MBA, Pain Management Physician

Dr Saurabh Dang, MBA is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties.  A graduate of Hamilton College, in Clinton, NY, Dr Dang completed his internship in General Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY. He then went on to receive his training in Anesthesiology at New York Medical College, in Valhalla, NY. During his Anesthesiology training, Dr Dang was elected and served as Chief Resident and received the “Resident of the Year Award” during his final year of training. He went on to complete a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at The University of Toledo, in Toledo, OH. He received his MBA from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.  

Since completing his training, Dr Dang has been in private practice in New Jersey.  He has specialized in neuromodulation and the implementation of spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal drug delivery systems for the treatment of chronic pain.  He has been a faculty member for multiple fellowship training labs throughout the United States, teaching physicians on implantation techniques of spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pumps.

Dr Dang has also served as a faculty member for various pain societies.  In his private practice Dr Dang offers multiple therapies for the treatment of chronic pain including: Intrathecal drug delivery system implantation, Dorsal Column Spinal Cord Stimulation implantation, Dorsal Root Spinal Cord Stimulation implantation, Insertion of interspinous spacer for spinal stenosis, SI joint arthrodesis, kyphoplasty, minimally invasive lumbar decompression (mild procedure) for spinal stenosis, and percutaneous tenotomy among others.  He employs the multimodal approach for treating patients with chronic pain. Dr Dang is an active member in many organizations including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the North American Neuromodulation Society.  Dr. Dang is located at Garden State Pain and Orthopedics locations in Jersey City, Clifton, West Orange, and Edison. 

Dr. Jahnna Levy, Pain Management Physician

Dr. Jahnna Levy practices physical medicine and rehabilitation at Garden State Pain & Orthopedics, where her expertise contributes a vital component to each person’s treatment and recovery. As an osteopathic physiatrist, she believes in a multifaceted and holistic approach to pain management. She treats each person as an individual, formulating a systematic treatment plan to restore function, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life when they receive care at one of four office locations: Edison, Clifton, West Orange, and Jersey City, New Jersey.

 Dr. Levy attended medical school at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York City. During this time, she became proficient in musculoskeletal medicine and co-founded the Osteopathic Orthopedic Organization. Upon graduation, Dr. Levy completed her internship at North Shore-LIJ Plainview Hospital and her residency in physiatry at the prestigious Rusk Institute at New York University Hospital in New York City. During her residency, Dr. Levy received extensive training at the Hospital for Joint Disease and was elected Chief Resident at both the Manhattan Veterans Affairs Hospital and Bellevue Hospital. During her fellowship, Dr. Levy was trained to perform a variety of nonsurgical orthopedic procedures and fluoroscopically-guided injections for neck, back, and joint pain. She’s also trained in spinal cord stimulator placement, EMGs, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, and percutaneous tenotomy for tendon injuries. Additionally, she received training in medical acupuncture and migraine management. 

Dr. Levy is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and fellowship trained in interventional pain management and sports medicine. She’s an active member of the North American Neuromodulation Society, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Dipan Patel, Pain Management Physician

Dr. Dipan Patel is a board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician at Garden State Pain & Orthopedics. He considers it an honor to help people overcome their pain and regain their quality of life. His special interests include Botox® for chronic pain disorders, trigeminal neuralgia, temporomandibular joint disorders, and headache and chronic migraine. Dr. Patel also specializes in complex regional pain syndrome, joint pain, and post-laminectomy syndrome. He welcomes patients at four office locations: Edison, Clifton, Hazlet, and Jersey City, and West Orange, New Jersey.

After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Patel did his internship in internal medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and finished his residency in anesthesiology at New York Medical College. He completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in interventional pain medicine at New York University Langone Medical Center in Manhattan.

During his fellowship training, Dr. Patel developed advanced skills and experience at renowned New York City hospitals. These include Tisch Hospital of NYU, Hospital for Joint Disease, Manhattan Veteran’s Affairs Hospital, Bellevue Hospital, and specialty outpatient centers such as the Center for Musculoskeletal Care and the Center for the Study and Treatment of Pain. As a result, Dr. Patel possesses one of the most comprehensive skill sets within the discipline of interventional pain medicine.

Dr. Deepan Patel, Orthopedic Surgeon

Deepan Patel, MD, offers the latest cutting-edge techniques in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee at Garden State Pain & Orthopedics. Dr. Patel specializes in cartilage restoration techniques and advanced shoulder reconstructive surgery. He also offers innovative treatment options for common sports-related injuries, including ACL tears, meniscus tears, and labral tears. Dr. Patel serves patients at convenient locations in Edison, Clifton, West Orange, and Jersey City, New Jersey. 

Dr. Patel is fellow-trained in minimally invasive procedures, including robot-assisted partial knee replacements, hip arthroscopy, and shoulder resurfacing arthroplasty. While his experience in these surgeries is extensive, Dr. Patel doesn’t rush to surgery without first looking for noninvasive treatments that can address a patient’s mobility and pain. Born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Dr. Patel graduated magna cum laude with a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He was also elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. For his orthopedic surgical residency, Dr. Patel worked at the prestigious NYU Langone Medical Center Hospital in New York. He went on to fellowship training at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, where he served as the assistant team physician for a number of Los Angeles professional sports teams, including the Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, Sparks, Anaheim Ducks, and teams from Loyola Marymount University. 

Dr. Patel has authored and co-authored over 15 articles for orthopedic journals and textbooks. He’s also presented his work on sports injuries at national meetings. Dr. Patel is especially passionate about treating ACL injuries, and the latest advancements in cartilage restoration techniques. He remains dedicated to learning the newest procedures and cutting-edge technologies, including robot-assisted surgeries, that weren’t available just a decade ago.
